Ruby's Holiday

Dearest Ruby,
We are going to have such fun these next few days. You have come to have a holiday with me whilst Mummy and Daddy are away at Hillsong Conference. This morning you arrived with your own little suitcase full of treasures and toys to play with. Mummy followed close behind laden with your own special duvet and pillow that you have on your 'big girls bed' at home, and a suitcase with all your bits and pieces. Daddy came too to give you a good send off. You felt a little sad when they said 'Goodbye' but we soon had your bed made and settled down to lunch in the garden room.
After lunch we went to sort out something for Grandad at PC World (Grandad's shop as it became known !) It didn't take long and you were so good so we went next door to the Pet Shop and looked at all the fish, rabbits, gerbils and hamsters.

You made a friend kneeling by the hamsters and introduced him to them too.

Then we went over to the Outlet, walking all the way whilst I pushed the buggy. I thought you could do with a nice juice drink at Neros ! ( No surprise there) You chose to sit up the back in the settee area. Dolly was a great companion and got up to all sorts of high-jinks ...cartwheels and somersaults. Quite the gymnast. At one point she was even wearing your shoes! How funny she looked. Your laughter got louder and louder so perhaps a quieter cuddle was needed. ;-)
We walked along to the play area next. How your confidence has grown since I last came here with you. We started on the bouncy toys...

Then climbed the steps and down the slide ... several times !

Then along to the tunnel...

...out the other side

and onto the seesaw, where you made another little friend.

It was quite busy but you didn't mind. the thought of going to see the horses drew you away, only to be waylaid by a sit on 'Ladybird'.

Over the bridge and along the path past the field, you walked with Dolly.

No horses! We thought they had gone away because we looked hard.

Then round the next field, there they all were!
You went up to them and talked to them.

First the big horse came to greet you...

Then you had a lovely chat to little horse.

You didn't seem the least bit tired Ruby, so we continued on our way, revisiting the Pet Shop to see the rabbits again , your favourite animals there. Then you hopped into the buggy for the last leg home. We read stories and played. You did an Alphabet jigsaw, 28 pieces, with a little help.

Well done !

We sent Mummy and Daddy an email in your own words, with photos, to tell them all about your day. Mummy soon replied. I hope she's not missing you too much xxx
You have never liked my bath Ruby, so you weren't too sure of bathtime. However I had a surprise for you and produced 'Froggy'. Froggy is a wind-up toy and at first you sat on the little seat. We had put bubbles in and you swished them around. Then you taught Foggy to swim. I found 'Whale' to come and be Froggy's friend, and we played together, giving them races, but they never swam in a straight line. Now you were really enjoying yourself. We blew bubbles through a flannel and made more bubbles! You washed yourself really well with the soap and then you didn't want to get out!
By now though Grandad had just walked through the door, so up we got, dried and dressed in your pyjamas. We ran downstairs and you sat on your stool in the kitchen and told him all about your day. You helped lay the table and sat ready for your tea which Grandad cooked. then he read you stories and played 'catch'. Do you ever get tired ?!!
I then fetched your milk and we took a book to read, 'Hannah the Hippo', upstairs to bed. You cuddled 'Big Bear' and snuggled down and we prayed to Jesus. Then you turned over and were sound asleep  zzzzzzz  Night night, Ruby, Sleep tight

Love and hugs,
Nana x
